Funny... When I watched the FIRST season of the Biggest Loser, I wanted to join that show. But as with any reality show... who the heck can take time off from work to do it?

Now I read this article as well as some others you have posted in the past and realize that there is so much we don't get to see about the show. You would think they would be "realistic" and show, if not note, all that these people are doing to accomplish such rapid weight loss.

It's bullshit like this that pisses me off because it messes with the average person's head. It's watching those types of crappy shows and reading crappy fitness magazines that leads me to believe I am not doing all I can in order to become fit.

Every time I come down hard on myself when my scale doesn't budge especially after a week of eating well and attending all my crossfit classes. I have to remind myself that my clothes are loose fitting so obviously I am accomplishing something. Yet still, I beat myself up mentally for it.

The hardest thing for me is not the workouts (although they bust my ass) it's ridding my mind of all the misinformation that society has ingrained in my head over the years.

The fact of the matter is that real people getting real results isn't entertaining enough... Screw logic and education, ratings and sales is what's most important! It's sad but it is what it is.

What's even worse was what you just said...people look at this nonsense on TV and think that their own personal progress isn't good enough. If people would actually stop to take a look at the bigger picture they would see that this is pure bullsh*t. The only way you are going to lose 10 pounds in a week is by starving yourself, wrapping your body in plastic wrap while exercising, and walking around with an assload of duiretics...which are all the epitome of stupidity but people do it all the time anyway.

And above all else, lighter does not equal FITTER! So that's my other reason why I'm not a fan of the show. The focal point of the whole show is WEIGHT, which is by far one of the LEAST IMPORTANT factors in regard to fitness. If success on the show was reliant upon bodyfat percentage lost, then and only then would it make sense and would it be beneficial. But if that was the case, they would have to change the way they train, the way they eat, the way they rest...they'd have to change everything pretty much!

The moral of the story is that this damn show was set up the was it was purposely... Misinformation keeps people fat. Fat people buy diet pills. Fat people buy Ab Rockets. Fat people buy "fitness" magazines. Fat people buy, buy, buy! It's all by design! There is no money in the cure!
