Enjoy!
WOW! You just won't cut the Wii Fit a break, will ya? LOL!
As far as the articles... there are American Doctors out there that tell you to lose weight in order to improve your chances of NOT getting type 2 diabetes and even reversing it. I should know... I have been told numerous times. It's just that the majority of AMERICANS (and I must include myself here because I WAS one, keyword WAS) are too lazy to workout and too stubborn to give up their ways of eating poorly.
Since I have cut out all processed foods, lowered my salt intake, and have been working out with you, my sugar levels have been well under 95, so I stopped all diabetes medications. Of course I did this without my doctors consent but it isn't the first time so don't bitch to me about it.
You will always have those people that will look for the easy way out; and as long as you have those people... the market will be open for all the pharmacetical companies to come up with the next "magic" pill in some laboratory. So here's to wishful thinking that the Obama administration will sort this all out.. Sorry... but I just don't see it.
In order to change the future, we need to change society's way of thinking and if you're going to do that... your best bet is to market the younger population. As for all those that mock Wii Fit.. well they have the right idea, let's just hope that those children will take those activities out from the livingroom and into the real world (eg. sports, sking, yoga etc).
The younger population has already been targeted! Targeted for destruction! Look around!
In my opinion, the fact of the matter is that people don't take care of themselves simply because they technically have no reason to! Why bust your ass day in and day out and live a disciplined lifestyle when you can eat, drink, and smoke yourself to the brink of death then get a motorized scooter, an oxygen tank, and all the drugs you can handle?!?! We have automated EVERYTHING, dozens of isles of processed shrink-wrapped microwavable poison, and video games that SIMULATE exercise... We don't have to hunt, build our own houses, or physically defend ourselves and our families from predators anymore...but your body doesn't know that, and that's the problem.
I don't see this being sorted out anytime soon either. Not wishing for an impending doomsday here, but I believe the only thing that will wake people the hell up is some sort of extreme distaster scenario that will bring natural selection back into play. In a situation where mental and physical strength would prevail over all else in regard to survival, the large majority of people would be f*cked...x5. I bet every last cent that we would live though lol! And Tom and Jeanne would probably be leading the pack! Haha.
LOL! Tom and Jeanne most definitely would be!!! LOL
It's funny how you mentioned a diaster of some sort to wake people up. That's so true and you're not the first person I have heard that from.
My DOCTOR has said the same thing! He referred to Hurricane Katrina as an example of how some residents of a nursing home were left to drown. He basically said, that was an example of "Survival of the Fittest." He mentioned that something major catastropic will happen and the "weak" will be weeded out so to speak. After noticing the look of horror on my face, He said that he knew I would think him horrible for saying such things, but it's the truth. There you have it, even those in the medical profession believe this. I understood by the time I left that office... then i found you. HA!!!
Your doctor is a smart man! It's not harsh, it's the truth... Natural selection has been eliminated from our society. The weak are allowed to thrive unfortunately, and that's what has screwed everything up.
Of course I'm not talking about our elders and those who have unwillingly been stricken with legitimate diseases/conditions, I'm talking about the 35 year olds with 50 inch waist lines running up insane healthcare costs with every bite into their big macs. The people who cause self inflicted harm should not be enabled, and they should not be allowed to waste funds that should be used for people who legitimately need assistance.
There are tons of people out there suffering at no fault of their own who can't afford the care that they need (or are paying for sub-par treatment) simply because insurance companies are paying out billions of dollars to keep people alive who are willfully killing themselves. I think that is sad.
I'll do 200 rope turns for anyone who'll do five burpees for me.
Haha, good one Tom.
