ANNOUNCEMENT - Mandatory 1:1 Skills Session!

Hello all,

I'm sure you've noticed, but just in case you haven't, things are changing...it's a little thing called progression. Our workouts are getting harder, our loads are getting heavier, and your margin for error is getting smaller. Please understand that this trend will continue. So if you are comfortable with where you are now and don't want to continue to get better, go grab some 3lb dumbells and some Richard Simmons tapes and go do your own thing...seriously.

Now for those of you who possess the desire to keep pressing on and moving forward, be aware that more concentration and focus is not just required...it is demanded. As intensity increases and loads get larger, the importance of proper form increases tenfold. By placing a strict emphasis on moving correctly, not only will you decrease your risk of injury, but your times will be better and you will receive much more benefit from your workouts.

I fully understand that just about all of you come from gyms where nothing was ever expected of you and the most complicated thing you ever had to do was figure out what machine to place your ass on, and that's ok. But you are here now...and I have high expections for all of you. I am well aware of everyone's strengths, weaknesses, capabiities, and limitations. I will never suggest that you do something that you are physically incapable of doing or something you are not ready for, however I will have you do plenty of things that you THINK you are unable to do. No one said this would be easy, and at this point you have to make a choice to either stand up or roll over.

Every registered member is REQUIRED to schedule a 60-minute 1:1 skills session with me...ASAP. In this session, we will review and build upon all of our core exercises. We will work with the kettlebell: swing, clean/jerk/snatch, TGUs, and hand transfers, the barbell: deadlift, clean/jerk/snatch, front/back squat, and the overhead press, and the basics: the double under, wallball, and squat/push-up form.

I am accepting appointments for Fridays at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm and Saturdays at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. You have 48 hours from now to schedule your appointment which must be completed by February 14th, 2009.

Let's get it done...

Under the "Navigation" tab, I just posted a revised compilation of exercise demos... I've spent the past 3 hours of my day searching the web and browing through the CrossFit library to find the most informative instructional videos available, so you all better make good use of them!

Between now and your appointment with me, I need everyone to take about 45 minutes to an hour of your time to watch the videos. It will make everything much easier once we meet for our 1:1 session. Take notes on anything you are confused about and we will address it during that time.

If you are unable to watch the videos prior to our appointment let me know and I will reschedule you until you do so!
