Will,
Re: Elite Athlete, where are all of these articles that badmouth crossfit? I'd appreciate if you could post some just so that I could get an idea of their point of view.
Also, how exactly do decatheletes train for their events? According to this article, the writer would have to consider them to be the most elite of the elite.

Tom, there aren't many intelligently written articles that give any legitimate reasons not to adhere to this method of training. The ones that I did come across, I posted in previous entries. Now, if you happen to come across something worthwhile feel free to send it to me!

And by the way, decathletes are always given much credit by the CrossFit community! Decathletes display more of the 10 commonly recognized fitness atributes than just about any other athletes on the planet.

For anyone interested in how the decathelete prepares him/herself, look at 'coachr.org/deca.htm'. The training schedule midway through the article is very interesting as pertains to the amount of time devoted to each 'type' of training. Sure wish I'd started doing this stuff many years ago.

WOW Tom.. thanks for that info. Interesting enough. I wish I were young enough to begin training for something like this as well.

Gives me hope for Ariel, since she just started. Hopefully she gets bitten by the Crossfit bug and decides to stick with it, because I am sure she can compete when the time comes. =)
